portfolio of services are in the areas of:
Recoverability
assessment
The Recoverability assessment is the starting point of your
Business continuity or Disaster Recovery program. The
assessment examines your current position with regards to
'best practice' at a high level, and sets it out clearly as a
baseline from which you may monitor or improve your overall
recovery program. The assessment will include areas such as
policy and procedures, backup and restore strategy and
implementation, documentation and standards, risk assessment
and acceptance, change and problem management, and vital
record management. Recommendations will be provided for areas
that may be improved in order to streamline your overall
recovery program.
Physical
risk assessment
The Physical risk assessment process will examine the
potential risks inherent in the physical design, construction
and management of your computing facilities. It includes an
examination of areas of risk such as physical security,
building location and construction, computer room location,
power supplies and distribution, water supplies, vulnerability
to flooding, fire detection and suppression systems, and
general housekeeping issues associated with the computer
facility.
Operational
risk assessment
The Operational risk assessment process will examine at a high
level the manner in which you manage and handle your data. It
includes an assessment of such things as the following:
- Back-up /
off-site storage
- Current
technology recovery strategies
- Data access
security measures
- User ID and
password allocation and controls
- Authorization
levels
- Change
control
- Archiving
and obsolescence
- Detection
and correction (problem management)
- Statutory
requirements
Business
impact analysis
This process analyses the business requirements of the IT
systems in the event of their loss for a period of time.
Impacts are assessed at a business process level, examining
areas such as direct financial impacts, seasonal influences,
intangible impacts such as public image, the opportunity to
develop alternate manual procedures, data backlog, application
recovery priorities and time objectives, and business process
recovery time frames.
Recovery
strategy development
The Recovery strategy development process will identify
potential IT recovery options in the event of the total loss
or incapacitation of your core IT systems. Potential options
are examined that will enable the recovery of the systems
within your stated time frame.
Recovery
plan development
The Recovery plan development process generates the
documentation of your planned responses to any actual or
potential disaster situations affecting delivery of service
from your IT facilities. We work closely with your personnel
to develop the recovery organization, define recovery teams
and responsibilities, define the actions required in order to
escalate and initiate a disaster recovery, and specify the
required scope, maintenance and control statements. The plan
will extend to provision of guidelines on site salvage and
restoration and the return of processing to the recovery site.
The plan is developed in a modular fashion, enabling the
addition of coverage for other sites with a minimum of effort.
Recovery
plan testing and training
Once your plan is written, its full effectiveness may not be
realized unless it is tested and your staff have been made
aware of the plan's requirements of them. NOIT Group
technicians can assist in these very important aspects of
business continuity.
